Description
Manikyamba Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, located at Draksharamam in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. The goddess Manikyamba resides alongside the Bhimeswara Shiva temple, one of the Pancharama Kshetras.
History
The temple has ancient origins and is part of the Pancharama Kshetra complex. The Bhimeswara temple here houses one of the five Shiva lingams said to be from the chariot of Tripurasura.
Architecture
Built in traditional South Indian style with a gopuram and mandapam. The temple complex includes both the Shakti and Shiva shrines.
Festivals & Celebrations
Maha Shivaratri and Navratri are the principal festivals. The temple is also significant during Karthika Masam.
Legends & Stories
The left cheek of Goddess Sati fell at this location. The Bhairava of this peetha is Bhima, reflecting the association with the Bhimeswara temple.

Nearest airport is Rajahmundry (30 km). Nearest railway station is Samalkot (5 km). Regular buses from Kakinada and Rajahmundry.
