Description
Yamunotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and is the source of the Yamuna river. It is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites in the Indian Himalayas, located at an altitude of 3,293 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas.
History
The current temple was built by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal in the 19th century. It has been rebuilt several times after damage from earthquakes and avalanches.
Architecture
The temple is a modest structure built of stone and dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. It houses a silver idol of the goddess and a rock crystal idol.
Legends & Stories
Yamuna is the twin sister of Yama, the God of Death, and daughter of Surya, the Sun God. Bathing in the Yamuna is believed to free one from untimely death.

Nearest airport is Jolly Grant Dehradun (210 km). Nearest railway station is Rishikesh. Trek of 6 km from Janki Chatti.

वर्तमान मंदिर 19वीं शताब्दी में टिहरी गढ़वाल के महाराजा प्रताप शाह ने बनवाया था।

पत्थर से निर्मित सादा मंदिर देवी यमुना को समर्पित है।

Description
யமுனோத்ரி கோயில் யமுனா தேவிக்கு அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டது. யமுனா நதியின் தோற்றுவாய் ஆகும். சார் தாம் யாத்திரைத் தலங்களில் ஒன்று.
History
தற்போதைய கோயில் 19ம் நூற்றாண்டில் கட்டப்பட்டது.

கல்லால் கட்டப்பட்ட எளிமையான கோயில்.
