Description
Chamunda Devi Temple is a revered Shakti Peetha located on the banks of the Ban Ganga river in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. Dedicated to Goddess Chamunda, a fierce form of Durga who slayed the demons Chanda and Munda.
History
The temple is of ancient origin. The original idol was moved from Kangra Fort to this location centuries ago. It is an important pilgrimage during Navratri.
Architecture
The temple is set in a scenic valley surrounded by hills. The main sanctum houses the idol of Chamunda Devi along with Hanuman and Bhairav Nath.
Legends & Stories
Goddess Durga killed the demons Chanda and Munda and took the name Chamunda. The temple marks the spot where her divine energy resides.
How to Reach
Nearest airport is Gaggal Kangra (20 km). Nearest railway station is Chamunda Devi on the narrow-gauge line. Regular buses from Dharamshala and Palampur.

पहाड़ियों से घिरी सुंदर घाटी में स्थित। चामुंडा देवी, हनुमान और भैरव नाथ की मूर्तियाँ।
