Description
Naina Devi Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, located atop a hillock at the Himalayan foothills in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. It is believed that the eyes (naina) of Goddess Sati fell here.
History
The temple has ancient origins. It was visited by Guru Gobind Singh in the 18th century. The temple attracts large numbers during Shravana Ashtami and Chaitra and Ashwin Navratras.
Architecture
The temple complex sits on a flat hilltop with panoramic views of Gobind Sagar Lake and the Bhakra Dam. The main shrine houses idols of Naina Devi, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Hanuman.
Legends & Stories
When Lord Shiva carried the burning body of Sati, her eyes fell at this spot. Hence the temple is called Naina (eyes) Devi.
How to Reach
Nearest airport is Chandigarh (100 km). Nearest railway station is Anandpur Sahib (30 km) or Kiratpur Sahib. Ropeway available from base to hilltop.

प्राचीन मंदिर। गुरु गोबिंद सिंह ने 18वीं शताब्दी में यात्रा की थी।
