Description
Mangala Gauri Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas, located in the ancient pilgrimage city of Gaya, Bihar. Dedicated to Goddess Mangala Gauri, a form of Parvati who bestows auspiciousness.
History
The temple is of great antiquity, mentioned in various Puranas. Gaya has been a sacred Hindu pilgrimage centre since Vedic times for Pind Daan (ancestral rites).
Architecture
A hilltop temple with ancient stone structure. The sanctum houses two breast-shaped stones representing the goddess.
Festivals & Celebrations
Navratri is celebrated grandly. The temple also sees activity during Pitru Paksha when thousands visit Gaya for ancestral rites.
Legends & Stories
The left cheek of Goddess Sati fell at this location. The Bhairava of this peetha is Maha Bhairav. The temple is associated with marriage blessings and marital bliss.

Nearest airport is Gaya (7 km) with flights from Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi. Gaya Junction is 3 km. Well connected by road.
