Description
Trimbakeshwar Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas located near Nashik, Maharashtra. It is unique because its Jyotirlinga has three faces representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The temple is near the source of the Godavari river.
History
The current temple was built by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao in the 18th century. It is an important site for Kumbh Mela held every 12 years. The Godavari river originates nearby at Brahmagiri Hill.
Architecture
Built entirely of black basalt stone in Nagara style. The temple has elaborate carvings and is enclosed by a high wall. The Jyotirlinga with three faces is covered by a jeweled crown of gold and gems.
Legends & Stories
Sage Gautama performed intense penance here. The Godavari river, brought to earth by Gautama, originates at Brahmagiri hill next to the temple.

वर्तमान मंदिर 18वीं शताब्दी में पेशवा बालाजी बाजीराव ने बनवाया। कुंभ मेले का महत्वपूर्ण स्थल।

काले बेसाल्ट पत्थर से नागर शैली में निर्मित। ज्योतिर्लिंग पर रत्नजड़ित स्वर्ण मुकुट।

गौतम ऋषि ने यहाँ कठोर तपस्या की। गोदावरी नदी ब्रह्मगिरि पहाड़ी से निकलती है।

18ம் நூற்றாண்டில் பேஷ்வா பாலாஜி பாஜிராவ் கட்டினார்.

கருப்பு பசால்ட் கல்லில் நாகர பாணியில் கட்டப்பட்டது.
